Farmers' stir: Heavy security in place at Jantar Mantar ahead of agitation

Delhi Police have intensified security at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar by placing barricades and heavy deployment of security forces ahead of farmers’ protests against Centre’s three new three farm laws. Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal has granted special permission for demonstrations by a maximum of 200 farmers till August 9. However, the Samkyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body of the farmers’ union, said that their protest will conclude along with the monsoon session of Parliament on August 13.
